About the Course

The Department of Criminology at St. George’s Arts & Science College was established in the year 2026 with a vision to address the growing need for crime analysis and justice administration. Understanding the causes of crime and developing effective prevention strategies are essential for ensuring a safe and secure society.

B.Sc. Criminology and Criminal Justice is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of crime, criminal behaviour, and the criminal justice system. The curriculum covers key areas such as Criminal Law, Police Administration, Juvenile Justice, Human Rights, Criminological Theories, Forensic Science, and Victim Assistance.

The programme emphasizes both theoretical learning and practical exposure through field visits, internships, and outdoor training. It equips students with the necessary analytical, investigative, and professional skills required for careers in law enforcement, forensic science, correctional administration, and related fields.

Core, Allied & Skill-Based Subjects (as per UOM)

The programme includes core subjects such as Criminology, Criminal Law, Police Administration, and Forensic Science. Allied subjects strengthen interdisciplinary knowledge through Psychology, Sociology, and Human Rights. Skill Enhancement Courses focus on areas like crime investigation techniques, cybercrime, communication skills, and report writing, ensuring practical competence and employability.
