St. George’s Arts and Science College conducted its 7th Annual Sports Day on 11 September 2026 with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the college sports flag by the Chief Guest, Tmt. S. Manimekalai, Assistant Commissioner of Police, followed by the opening prayer and welcome address. The March Past was a highlight of the event, with students marching proudly under the four houses—Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald. The Olympic Torch was lit, followed by the Sports Oath, symbolising discipline, unity and fair play. The Founder and Secretary introduced and felicitated the Chief Guest, who addressed the students and encouraged them to actively participate in sports, emphasising that participation is more important than winning. She also highlighted the importance of staying away from drugs and making responsible choices. The Sports Meet was formally declared open, followed by the symbolic release of doves. The celebrations continued with vibrant cultural and fitness performances, including Silambam, Aerobic Dance, Human Pyramids and Zumba. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes, followed by the vote of thanks and the National Anthem. The Annual Sports Day provided students with an enriching opportunity to demonstrate their athletic abilities, teamwork and sportsmanship, leaving them with joyful memories of participation and healthy competition.
